Living Well With A Disability
TRCIL was the second Center for Independent Living in Pennsylvania to offer the Living Well With A Disability program. The Independent Living (IL) philosophy-infused concept was first developed by the Center for Independent Living of Central PA (CILCP) and launched in their CIL territory in November 2007. TRCIL introduced it to Western Pennsylvania in September 2008.
Living Well With A Disability is a free resource for anyone with any type of disability and of any age. It is designed to assist individuals with disabilities in reaching short-term and long-term goals, that range from the achievement of dreams and aspirations to enhancing the quality of life and acquiring the necessary goods and services to maintain independence. TRCIL’s Living Well With A Disability staff can provide assistance and resources in the following areas: housing options; transportation; assistive technology; personal assistance services; social, recreational and spiritual requests; employment; fitness and nutrition – just to name a few! No request is too small or too large!
